Modes of Memory Addressing

Immediate Addressing:
The instructions contain the data to be used.
E.g. ADD 6 (Add the value 6 to the accumulator)
This is the fastest method as it does not involve main memory since nothing is fetch from main memory.

Direct (or Absolute) Addressing:
The opcode refers directly to the location in memory
E.g. SUB 07 (The value held in the memory location 07 is subtracted from the content of the accumulator)

Indirect Addressing:
The data value within an intermediate location points to the actual location of the data that is needed.

Indexed Addressing:
The final address for the data is determined by adding an offset to a base address
